Some morning yoga at last year's retreat

At Granlibakken Tahoe, we are getting pretty excited for our annual Spring Into Summer Yoga Retreat this May! We have been working hard with our instructors and our chef to create a schedule, delicious meals, and activities for attendees to enjoy.

What can you expect from this retreat? Upon arrival, we will host a mellow, calming Vinyasa to get everyone ready for a weekend of yoga and wellness. Following the Vinyasa will be dinner, with a bounty of healthy meal options to suit every dietary need. In the past, we have found that a social fire ceremony at the start of a retreat is a great way to meet everyone and to set intentions for the retreat. A fire ceremony hosted at our warming fire pit will be a great way to wrap up the evening and to mentally prepare for the next two days of yoga, friendship, and wellness.

Every morning after breakfast, we will host an invigorating Iyangar flow to set intentions for the day, and to align and purify the body. After getting your muscles and your mind ready for the day, guided meditation will be offered, followed by lunch and personal time. The personal time can be used to take advantage of Granlibakken's great amenities, from our onsite Day Spa, to our pool, hot tub, and sauna. You may also want to use this time to enjoy a nature walk on one of the many trails that intersect with our property, or to perhaps to spend a peaceful afternoon at Lake Tahoe, located just a mile and a half away.

Following your personal time, we will offer the option of two wellness sessions each day, from a guided nature hike, to a Chakra workshop, to an intermediate Vinyasa flow. This is a great way to explore a new area of your practice, or to expand your knowledge in an area that you are already involved in.

In the evening, enjoy a dinner of healthy and cleansing options that our chef  has prepared, followed by another calming session, like our Sound Healing Yin Yoga and Yoga Nidra session that we are very excited about. This session will introduce you to singing bowl therapy, with restorative Yin poses and Savasana with guided imagery. Each evening we will also host social time, which is a great way to enjoy some food and drink and to get to know your fellow yogis better.

The Spring Into Summer Yoga Retreat at Granlibakken Tahoe is the perfect way to set your intentions for the summer. Whether you have an interest in yoga, or if you have already started a yoga practice, our knowledgeable instructors will be able to guide you through a weekend filled with meaningful yoga practice, connections with other like-minded people, and inspiration for a summer filled with healthy intentions.
