Granlibakken is a conference center with expansive grounds nestled in the tall pines. I have been to Tahoe several times before and stayed on the lake which is stunning but that does not allow for the true feeling of being in the mountains and the ability to experience the natural beauty of the area like at Granlibakken. My room looked directly into the forest, and was cozy and well appointed. The food was delicious, lots of gluten free and vegan options including a lasagne for lunch that alone would bring me back. I loved swimming in the heated pool, looking up at the mountain covered in snow.
