Lead Chef

Lead Chef Duties Include But Not Limited To:

  • Must be experienced chef
  • Must be able to supervise staff
  • This is a leadership and cooking position
  • Experience in banquets preferred
  • Prep proper amount of food for service
  • Portion meat, poultry and fish
  • Communicate with Dining room staff and supervisor to ensure proper service
  • Ensure quality food
  • Control waste and timing
  • Accomplish tasks in a timely and efficient manner
  • Make sanitation a priority and keep areas clean
  • All kitchen staff is expected to work in all food areas if needed

Lead Chef Job Qualifications:

  • Education: Culinary school degree, completed apprenticeship or equivalent experience preferred but not required.
  • Culinary Experience Required
  • Licenses/Certifications: Food Handler's card may be required.

Snow Groomer

Snow Groomer Duties Include But Not Limited To:

  • Maintain mountain skiing surfaces to finest level possible
  • Ability to learn how to operate all Slope Grooming equipment
  • Safe operation of a diesel powered over the snow vehicle with hydrostatic drives, 12 way blade, and multi-function roto tiller rear implements
  • Operate all machine functions, such as blade controls, rear implement controls and steering.
  • Minimize downtime through basic preventative maintenance, cleanliness and upkeep of machine
  • Covers rocks and obstacles on the slopes. Moves snow from low wear areas to high wear areas.
  • Manual labor in other Slopes and Trails work
  • Receive daily working instructions from Foreman and Supervisor
  • Daily, as needed, communication with shop Mechanics concerning mechanical
  • Other Duties: Other duties as may be assigned by the Ski Area Supervisor, Manager or company leadership team

Snow Groomer Job Competencies and Job Requirement:

  • Effective communication skills, oral & written
  • Strong sense of customer service & safety awareness
  • Able to understand and follow verbal and written instructions.
  • Have a neat & clean appearance in compliance with the company grooming standards
  • Punctual, able to report at scheduled start time
  • Work well as part of a team.
  • Required to ski or snowboard on snow and ice, and up and down hill, while carrying equipment.
  • Able to work with minimum supervision

Snow Groomer Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Applicants must be 25 years of age or older
  • 1-year grooming/snowcat operation experience
  • Equipment operation background and experience with diesel engine/hydraulic machines
  • Ski area experience
  • Basic knowledge and Troubleshooting skills grooming equipment
  • Valid driver's license with no restrictions

Indoor/Outdoor: While performing the duties of this job, the employee will frequently be exposed to outside weather conditions. The employee may encounter extreme winter cold and blizzard conditions.

Ski & Sledding Area Technician

This is a seasonal position from December 10th 2019 to April 2020. There will be opportunity to transition to a different department within Granlibakken once this seasonal position ends.

Lift & Sledding Area Technician Include But Not Limited To:

  • Assists customers including lift loading, unloading and operations
  • Properly operating the lifts in accordance with procedure, loading and unloading the lift
  • Watching the lift line for any safety or customer use issues, observing and enforcing general and specific safety standards
  • Scanning the ski area and snow play area for potential problems and assisting in accident response
  • Maintaining loading and unloading areas correctly
  • Maintaining trash receptacles and picking up trash
  • Maintaining fences properly, and setup and breakdown of the lifts and snow-play area
  • Must be able to lift at least 40lb’s.
  • Must be prepared to work outside in various weather conditions.
  • Operation of Heavy Equipment: Occasional requirement to operate snow blower and snowmobile.
  • Snow Removal: Granlibakken maintains a snow removal contract that requires all Ski Hill employees to be available on snow days to help with snow removal. Generally a snow day is called when at least 3” of snow has accumulated on the roads and pathways.
  • All Ski area personnel will support timely opening of the parking, pathways, lifts and area.
  • Other Duties: Other duties as may be assigned by the Ski Area Supervisor, Manager or company leadership team.

Maintenance Technician

Maintenance Technician Duties Include But Not Limited To:

  • Diagnosis, repair, and maintenance of resort facilities, equipment, and systems.
  • Performs complex and specialized diagnosis and repair on resort facilities and related equipment, and systems including pumps, motors, compressors, piping, boilers, HVAC systems, mechanical drives, air handling units, valves, filtration devices, chemical feed systems, lighting systems/controls, and other related equipment and systems; and help with specialized and difficult tasks associated with plumbing, carpentry, painting, electrical and mechanical projects.
  • Abide by all safety regulations and procedures.
  • Operation of Heavy Equipment - Occasional requirement to operate a Loader, Snow Removal Equipment, Groomer and other equipment necessary to maintain the property.
  • Snow Removal - Granlibakken maintains a snow removal contract that requires all Maintenance employees to be available on snow days to help with snow removal. Generally a snow day is called when at least 3" of snow has accumulated on the roads and pathways.
    Perform general maintenance functions related specifically to the upkeep of resort facilities, systems, and equipment. Must be able to lift at least 40lb's.

Common Area Cleaner

Common Area Cleaner Duties Include But Not Limited To:

  • Clean common areas, offices, storage units and outside property according to preset standards and procedures. Duties include, but are not limited to cleaning lobby, bathrooms, kitchens, vacuuming, dusting, cleaning cars, carpets and trash pic up.
  • Empty wastebaskets and transport other trash and waste to disposal areas according to preset standards and procedures.
  • Replenish supplies such as drinking glasses, writing supplies, and bathroom items according to preset standards and procedures.
  • Clean and maintain barbecues daily.
  • Keep all storage rooms and equipment neat and orderly according to preset standards and procedures.
  • Turn in all articles found immediately and handle according to lost and found procedures.
  • Report maintenance problems immediately.
  • Report damages immediately to the Front Desk/Supervisor.
  • Follow established chemical procedures and key control procedures.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Experience: No initial experience required.
  • Paid training for eager individuals willing to learn.
  • Knowledge of cleaning equipment, methods, and chemicals also preferred.
  • Good English communication skills required for interaction with hotel guests and staff.

  • Experience: One or more years experience in Guest Services preferred. Professional driving experience preferred.
  • Licenses: Valid California Driver's License and the ability to obtain Granlibakken driver permits required.
