Ski Area Manager

Ski Area Manager Duties Include But Not Limited To:

  • In support of the General Manager, manages all aspects of the snow sport activities at Granlibakken.   Manages Ski Area personnel and performs a variety of skilled tasks in the customer service, operation and maintenance of the Ski Operation area of responsibility; provides instruction and on-the-job training to subordinate staff; orchestrates the smooth operation of the ski area including snow making, snow surface maintenance, ticketing, and retail, ski school, rentals, housekeeping and emergency response; all Ski Area related activities; coordinates with and monitors the retail vendors; as risk manager for the snow operations, ensures safe operations for both employees and visitors; and performs other duties as assigned.
  •  Provides lead direction to the ski area staff and performs a variety of semi-skilled tasks in the customer service, operation, and maintenance of ski area facilities, systems, and equipment; provides instruction and on-the-job training to subordinate staff; repairs and maintains ski area equipment, electrical, mechanical, snow making and plumbing systems; coordinates with and monitors the work of contract service personnel and vendors; safely operates tools and equipment; and performs other duties as assigned.
  •  The Ski Area Manager has overall responsibility for planning, organizing, directing, and providing immediate supervision to section staff and perform more specialized maintenance functions related specifically to the marketing, sales and operations of all snow sports activities.

Ski Area Manager Job Duties But Not Limited To:

  • Planning and execution of Maintenance and operation of Ski Area facilities, GPOA contractor  support, grounds, snow removal, risk management including supervising on premises contractors and projects.   Implementing plans to keep property, training and customer experience at a four star customer service standard.
  • Hires, trains and develops ski area staff.
  • Provides training and direction to staff  in the diagnosis, repair, and maintenance of resort facilities, equipment, and systems; prioritizes, schedules, and monitors daily work assignments; oversees preventative maintenance plans; provides instruction on and enforces safety regulations; recognizes, evaluates, and utilizes various resources to solve complex work problems; uses a personal computer to prepare work requests and track work orders to ensure timely completion of assignments; coordinates and monitors the work of contractors and vendors; and researches and recommends new processes for continuous improvement.
  • Working with the Marketing Manager develops, implements and fulfills marketing plans and goals.  Tracks marketing programs to develop input for further marketing and business development.
  • Manages all aspects of accounting from point of sale through accounting to ensure correct customer charges, accounting reports, and financial auditing.
  • Performs or supervises complex and specialized diagnosis and repair on ski area facilities and equipment including snow making, lift systems, rolling stock and rental equipment.
  • Prioritize and schedule work assignments; effectively motivate, train, and lead subordinates; provide instruction on and enforce safety regulations and procedures.
  • Maintains accurate up-to-date records and inventory to meet Cal OSHA, insurance, and industry standards.
  • Other duties to include interaction with Federal, State and County/Local officials with respect to health, environmental, hazardous materials and any other issues directly related to the snow sports areas including snow surfaces, ski runs, HAZMAT use, air quality, fire safety, BMP’s, ADA, etc.

Operation of Heavy Equipment

  • Operate lifts, snow blower, groomer, loader and snowmobile.

Job Qualifications:

  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Must be able to lift at least 40lb.
  • Must be able to operate heavy equipment.
  • Good English communication skills required for interaction with hotel guests and staff.

Housekeeping Supervisor

Housekeeper Supervisor Duties Include But Not Limited To:

  • Supervise the activities and monitor the performance of the Housekeeping team in the assigned guest room and common area section.
  • Conduct frequent room inspections to ensure established cleaning standards are upheld.
  • Ensure that all furnishings, hallways, vending areas, and storage rooms are well maintained.
  • Conduct inventories to ensure adequate stock of supplies.
  • Coordinate and facilitate any repairs for maintenance deficiencies.
  • Monitor chemical usage for proper compliance with OSHA standards.
  • Ensure department compliance with all health and safety regulations.
  • Ensure accurate key control.
  • Work with other departments to maintain AAA 3 diamond or higher standards for the property.
  • Assure that inventory of the rooms is up-to-date in accordance with established requirements
  • Clean assigned guest rooms, according to preset standards and procedures. Duties include, but are not limited to making beds, replenishing linens, cleaning bathrooms and vacuuming.
  • Replenish supplies such as drinking glasses, writing supplies, and bathroom items according to preset standards and procedures
  • Report maintenance problems immediately.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Housekeeping Supervisor Job Qualifications:

  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Experience: Minimum of one year housekeeping experience in addition to one year of supervisory experience or equivalent preferred. Comprehensive knowledge of housekeeping procedures, inventories, equipment and chemicals required. Strong communication skills required.
  • Language: Bilingual preferred English/Spanish

Common Area Cleaner

Common Area Cleaner Duties Include But Not Limited To:

  • Clean common areas, offices, storage units and outside property according to preset standards and procedures. Duties include, but are not limited to cleaning lobby, bathrooms, kitchens, vacuuming, dusting, cleaning cars, carpets and trash pic up.
  • Empty wastebaskets and transport other trash and waste to disposal areas according to preset standards and procedures.
  • Replenish supplies such as drinking glasses, writing supplies, and bathroom items according to preset standards and procedures.
  • Clean and maintain barbecues daily.
  • Keep all storage rooms and equipment neat and orderly according to preset standards and procedures.
  • Turn in all articles found immediately and handle according to lost and found procedures.
  • Report maintenance problems immediately.
  • Report damages immediately to the Front Desk/Supervisor.
  • Follow established chemical procedures and key control procedures.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Experience: No initial experience required.
  • Paid training for eager individuals willing to learn.
  • Knowledge of cleaning equipment, methods, and chemicals also preferred.
  • Good English communication skills required for interaction with hotel guests and staff.

Lead Evening Chef Duties Include But Not Limited To:

  • Must be experienced chef
  • Must be able to supervise staff
  • This is a leadership and cooking position
  • Experience in banquets preferred
  • Prep proper amount of food for service
  • Portion meat, poultry and fish
  • Communicate with Dining room staff and supervisor to ensure proper service
  • Ensure quality food
  • Control waste and timing
