Your Tahoe Winter Escape Starts Here

Winter Is Wonderful In Tahoe

From majestic lake views and mountaintops blanketed with pure white snow to local dining and charming community culture, winter is the perfect time to awaken your soul in Tahoe.

A one-of-a-kind experience, across 12 unique towns, awaits. In the heart of it all, you'’ll find Granlibakken Tahoe resort, home to Tahoe's most family-friendly ski hill. Here, you can ski and snowboard right at the resort on our ski and boarding hill - or take a private or family ski or board lesson. You can also rent cross-country skis or snowshoes and head out to explore our 74-acre resort and surrounding national forest.

Your safety is important to us! If you or anyone traveling to Tahoe with you plans to ski or snowboard, please review the interactive Ski California Mountain Safety Guide to keep you safe in the snow.

OUR SLEDDING AND SKI HILL IS CLOSED FOR THE SEASON

We plan to re-open sledding around Thanksgiving (weather and snowmaking permitting) and skiing and snowboarding in mid-December. Check back in November for more details.

Ski and Snowboard Lift Tickets
You can ski or ride right out your back door at Granlibakken Tahoe. Our modestly-sized ski hill is perfect for beginner through intermediate skiers and snowboarders, with a rental shop and ski school at the base of the hill. The ski hill and ski school are open Friday-Monday throughout the season.

Granlibakken’s ski and snowboard hill is accessible via two surface lifts. The beginner “bunny slope” is accessed by a rope tow. The intermediate slope is accessed using a Poma button lift. Surface lifts provide a unique opportunity to exit the lift partway up the slope, as opposed to chairlifts, which typically carry skiers and snowboarders all the way to the top of the slope. This is ideal for beginners since they will be able to progressively move up to higher and steeper slopes as their skills improve.
